How to recover from mold exposure

There are several ways you can tackle mold testing. There are possibilities for professional tests and self-tests. Checking your environment (at home or at work) for mould can be beneficial if the symptoms of mould disease are similar to other chronic inflammatory conditions such as Lyme.   

Visual inspection of the house: You can carry out a visual inspection of the house yourself or call in a qualified indoor air specialist for more comprehensive information. ERMI (Environmental Relative Mold Index) DNA test to see if mold is present in the dust. You can also use a Swiffer cloth to collect dust.

The biggest drawback is the price tag and the limitation of separate tests for each room in the house. Moisture and humidity meters are available in hardware stores, but while these resources will not be able to tell you whether you have mold, they can help you to determine the humidity and humidity that are right for mold growth. With air you want less than 50% humidity in the room. If you test drywall, you want lower values (5-12%).
